The agreement
The short version: use Langee with your own accounts, don't abuse it, your saved learning data is yours. The full version below is what legally applies.
Effective 31 August 2026Langee (the "Service") — the browser extension, this website and the related APIs — is operated by GeekSight Inc. ("we", "us"). By installing or using Langee you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which together form your agreement with us. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Langee adds a language-learning layer to content you already have lawful access to: interactive subtitles and text, AI-assisted translation, saving, and practice tools. Langee hosts no video or article content of its own.
The Service is currently free while we launch. We may introduce paid plans later; if we do, we'll say so clearly before anything is charged, and no feature you rely on will silently become paid without notice. We may add, change or withdraw features as the product evolves.
Langee is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Max, Prime Video, TED or any other platform it works on. Their names and logos belong to their owners.
Use Langee lawfully and as intended. In particular, you may not:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
The words, phrases, sentences and progress you save are yours. You grant us the licence needed to store, process and sync that data for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you. We don't use your learning data for advertising and we don't sell it.
Saved context sentences function as your personal notes: they are tied to your account, not published, and not compiled into any shared content database.
Translations, explanations, generated subtitles and pronunciation scores are produced by AI models. They are good, and they are not perfect: output may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete, and AI-translated subtitles are labelled as such. AI output is learning assistance, not professional translation or advice. The providers that process explicitly submitted content are listed in the Privacy Policy.
The Langee software, design and branding are our property and are protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the extension; they don't transfer any ownership. If you send us feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them to improve the Service without obligation to you.
You can stop using Langee at any time and delete your account from Settings — deletion removes your account-owned records as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where required by law. Sections that by their nature survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) survive it.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and our total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — or €50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects statutory consumer rights.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves; the effective date above changes when we do, and material changes will be flagged in the product or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — this does not deprive you of protections granted by mandatory law of your country of residence. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
